The City of Mountain Grove Wastewater Department employees work everyday to insure that we meet or exceed all State and Federal Regulations.

The City of Mountain Grove has two wastewater treatment plants, both plants are located off of 19th Street. One plant is a mechanical plant and the other plant is a Modified Lagoon style plant.

The systems are designed for a population of 15,000 before further expansion is necessary, our current population is approximately 4,789

Our Wastewater  Department crews are available 24 hours a day for emergencies, we will always have personnel on call. During regular Business hours, please call 417-926-4162 for wastewater issues.

Storm water connections to the Sanitary Sewer System is not allowed.

After Hour, weekends and holidays Wastewater Emergency number is 417-259-0186

You can always call the Police Department at 417-926-5181 after normal working hours and they will dispatch appropriate personnel to deal with any issues pertaining to the Wastewater system.

Wastewater rates are based on water usage during any given month. The water Department reads water meters starting on the 27th of each month. The bill will be received by the 1st of the following month with a due date of the 10th before a late fee of 10% is applied.

Shut off date is usually on the 16th of each month for non-payment of the bill.

Mountain Grove residents enjoy lower than normal wastewater rates compared to others in our area. We do this by maintaining all equipment in the  best condition possible and keeping current with all regulatory rules. WE are doing a rate study currently and developing a Capital Improvement Plan so that we can insure for generations to come that we have the capability to handle all current wastewater and a plan for growth.

Our Current Rate Structure is:

$6.00 – Minimum Charge

$2.01 – Per 1,000 gallons of water used
